Slovenian President Borut Pahor and Slovak president Zuzana Caputova visited almost 100 Slovenian soldiers operating as part of the more than 1,000-strong multinational NATO combat unit at the training centre in Lest (Banska Bystrica region) on Thursday. "It is an important signal of cooperation and chiefly strengthening of our resilience and security," Caputova told a news conference following the visit. She thanked all members operating within the NATO group. The Slovenian president paid a visit to Lest at the end of his term in office. Caputova stated that she has always had a very good relationship with the Slovenian president during the whole of his term. During his visit to Slovakia, Pahor also thanked Slovak soldiers from Presov who helped to extinguish fires in Slovenia in the summer. They were extinguishing the fire in the mountainous forested area with the help of a helicopter, with 350 so-called bambi water bags being used for its liquidation. President Caputova ended her trip to the region by visiting the Slovak Army's Air Forces Command in Zvolen.
