Slovak and Finnish prime ministers talk about radicalisation of youth

Education and personal development must be based on values, Slovak Premier Eduard Heger (OLaNO) told media at the University of Helsinki on Thursday where he, together with Education Minister Jan Horecky, took part in the presentation of a scientific project on the causes of growing radicalisation in society and among young people at schools. Heger stressed a need to pay attention to social networks in the fight against growing radicalisation. He highlighted the importance of education and the need for cooperation with the police. "We talk a lot about specific professions and content, what a person should know. However, we mustn't leave out values from the educational process," stated the premier. According to him, teachers should create space for students to discuss events that are happening in the world. The Slovak premier is on an official visit to Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic and Estonia from Wednesday (November 9) to Friday (November 11).
