Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) is set to meet his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala on Thursday (November 10) to discuss the situation with illegal migration on the common border. "We'll present proposals for solutions at the meeting, I believe we will find an agreement, because what is happening on the Slovak-Czech border can't continue," said the prime minister following the meeting of the Security Council on Wednesday. According to Heger, strengthening the protection of the external Schengen border is necessary. "In this sense, it's necessary to strengthen mixed international patrols and also Frontex units on the Serbian-Hungarian border," added the premier. As a result of the increase in trafficking and illegal migration, the Czech Republic introduced temporary checks on the border with Slovakia.
