Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger was received in Helsinki on Thursday morning by Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, with Heger expressing Slovakia's support for Finland's accession to NATO at the meeting. Slovakia ratified the NATO accession protocols of Finland and Sweden in September. The premier and the president also discussed aid for Ukraine both in the long and short term. At the same time, Niinisto inquired about Slovakia's car industry and the impacts of the energy crisis. Later on Thursday, Heger also met his Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin and visit the University of Helsinki.
