The call under the national recovery plan is for hospital construction and renovation projects exceeding €5 million, Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) and Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (an OLaNO nominee) announced on Tuesday. A total of €212 million has been allocated for the call. Those who are interested have until December 31 to apply. The aim of the call is to create a modern, accessible and efficient network of hospitals that will ensure quality health care, an attractive environment for health staff and good management of resources. Lengvarsky explained that the evaluation of applications will be based on a regional principle, while the efficiency of spending will also be taken into account. "In practice, this means that we want to support projects that have the highest added value for the patient. We don't want to support cosmetic changes, but real solutions with long-term benefits," the minister claimed. Meanwhile, Heger said that this call will be followed by another one amounting to €53 million for projects below €5 million in the next few weeks. (TASR)
