About 200 illegal migrants have been put up in a tent camp in the town of Kuty (Trnava region), TASR press agency learnt from the Interior Ministry on Monday. The ministry added that these numbers are subject to dynamic changes. "Incoming individuals or, more precisely, individuals in transit perceive the camp only as a stopgap on their way to Western Europe. On average, they stay at the camp for two-three days," reported the ministry. The majority of migrants are from Syria and the state of war declared in their country poses an obstacle to their lawful extradition. The ministry added that their target destination is Germany. Meanwhile, MPs united in the extra-parliamentary Republika party intend to initiate a no-confidence motion in Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) over what they perceive as his failure to handle the migration crisis, TASR learnt on Monday. At least 30 signatures are needed to initiate the vote. "There's no one to blame for this immigration chaos, this endangering of Slovakia, other than sleepy minister Mikulec. We've been urging him to wake up and take action multiple times, yet all he did was just turn onto his other side and happily continue snoring away. This can't go on any longer," said Republika leader Milan Uhrik, who intends to start collecting the signatures later this week. The Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic strongly opposes the claims of the opposition parties in connection with illegal migration. It calls on them to start helping instead. TASR press agency was informed about this by the spokeswoman of the ministry Zuzana Eliášová. The ministry noted that it has been explaining the issue of illegal migration intensively for several weeks. The ministry stressed that migrants have no interest in staying in Slovakia and that the problem needs to be solved at European level. Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OĽANO) is in contact with representatives of the European Commission. "As the minister himself has been communicating for several weeks, the aim is to protect the external Schengen border and prevent the influx of illegal migrants into the European area," the ministry said.
