Retirees who are entitled to a 13th pension will be paid such a benefit for the second time this year, but the amount will be reduced in December with a coefficient of 0.7, according to the Labour Ministry-sponsored amendment to the law on the 13th pension. President Zuzana Caputova signed it on Wednesday. Given the significant increase in the prices of goods and services, the Labour Ministry viewed the measures taken so far for the recipients of pension benefits as insufficient. The ministry pointed to the fact that pensions were increased by 1.3 percent at the beginning of the year. Subsequently, a differentiated 13th pension ranging between €50-300 was paid ahead of schedule in July. According to the original plan, the 13th pension was not going to be paid at the traditional time at the end of the year.
