At the Skalnate Pleso station in the High Tatras at an altitude of approximately 1,750 metres above sea level, it was almost 14 degrees Celsius in the early morning hours, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) reported on a social network on Tuesday, adding that according to operational data, this is a record for November 1. A relatively low daily record also occurred in Liesek (Zilina region), Telgart (Banska Bystrica region) and Strbske Pleso (Presov region). "At these, and potentially also at other higher stations, there is a high chance of breaking the daily record on Tuesday as well, despite the fact that compared to Monday (October 31), the upper layers of the atmosphere are already getting colder," pointed out the meteorologists.
