NAKA deals with hate comments on the Internet

The Slovak National Criminal Agency is dealing with hate speeches published on the Internet which increased after he terrorist attack against LGBTI+ people in Bratislava on October 12. In particular, it concerns suspicions of committing extremism offences, especially the offence of incitement to national, racial and ethnic hatred. "Currently, our investigators are evaluating the suggestions. From a tactical point of view, it is not possible to talk about the details in order not to frustrate the course of the investigation, especially on the part of the suspects," police wrote on the social media.

The police reminded that the penalty for approving a terrorist attack is imprisonment for up to ten years. "In the same way, publishing and making available a manifesto published in connection with the attack on Zámocká street may constitute an extremist offence, namely disseminating extremist material," police explained.
