Over 25,800 people vaccinated with jabs adapted to omicron

A total of 25,869 people have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 with jabs adapted to the omicron variant to date in Slovakia as of Saturday. According to the head of the National Health Information Centre's (NCZI) communications department Veronika Daničová, an "additional 3,629 applicants are in a waiting room for the adapted vaccine, with 1,797 having already been assigned a date of inoculation." Registration for vaccination against COVID-19 with jabs adapted to the omicron variant was launched in Slovakia on September 20.

The omicron variant jabs can only be administered as boosters, meaning that only people who have already been inoculated with the original vaccines are eligible for them. At the same time, they are only meant for individuals over twelve years of age, and at least three months must have passed since the recipient's most recent inoculation or recovery from COVID-19.
