Premier Heger meets Icelandic President

Prime Minister Eduard Heger met Icelandic President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson at the Government Office on Thursday. The premier and the Icelandic president discussed the use of renewable resources and geothermal energy. Iceland is the world leader in the use of geothermal energy for heating. Heger finds Iceland an example but also a challenge as Slovakia does not use its geothermal resources to such an extent. The Slovak prime minister added that Iceland managed to combine natural resources with modern technologies. Electricity that is used on this island comes only from renewable sources and Iceland ranks among the most ecological countries in the world.
