Icelandic President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson arrived for an official visit to Slovakia at the invitation of Slovak President Zuzana Caputova on Thursday. The presidents were to discuss the development of the use of geothermal energy, global security, gender equality and the protection of minority rights. The Icelandic president arrived in Slovakia with a business delegation focused on energy. On this occasion a Slovak-Icelandic business forum dedicated to innovations in energy, green transition with an emphasis on the development of Slovakia's geothermal energy potential is taking place. During his visit to Slovakia, the Icelandic president and his spouse will honour the memory of the victims of the shooting on Zamocka Street. On Friday, the president is due to meet Icelandic students in Martin, where many Nordic students study medicine.
