Constitutional Court dealing with referendum question

The Constitutional Court on Wednesday will deal with the constitutionality of a referendum question that has been challenged by President Zuzana Caputova. The behind-closed-doors session started at 9 a.m. and is expected to be followed by a press briefing. Depending on the court's decision, the referendum expected to be convened by the president will have either one or two questions. The challenged question inquires whether people agree that the Government should resign immediately, which Caputova viewed as disputable from the point of view of the Constitution. The question that will definitely appear in the plebiscite will ask the public whether it agrees that an early termination of a parliamentary electoral term can be carried out via a referendum or a resolution of Parliament.
