Two minors suspected of participation in terrorism

A sixteen-year-old defendant identified only as B.B., suspected of participation in terrorism, will not be prosecuted in custody. A Specialised Criminal Court's pre-trial judge decided to release him on Sunday under certain restrictions. As court spokesperson Katarina Kudjakova informed, the pre-trial judge released the minor suspect and replaced custody of the defendant with a supervision by a probation officer as well as a sworn statement by his mother. The court also imposed restrictions on the defendant accordingly. The charges against the defendant concern crimes of the founding, supporting and promoting movements suppressing basic rights and freedoms as well as a certain form of participation in terrorism.
The NAKA arrested the defendant on Friday (October 21). It secured evidence about the criminal activity in collaboration with the Military Intelligence as part of the investigation into the Slovakbro case.

The National Criminal Agency (NAKA) has pressed charges against another secondary school student N.K., name abbreviated due to legal reasons, who voiced his public approval with the October 12 terrorist attack in Bratislava. With the approval of the Special Prosecutor's Office, the defendant will not be prosecuted in custody. The defendant was arrested on Friday, October 21. "We warn that one of the forms of participation in terrorism is also the public endorsement of a terrorist attack, which, under the Paragraph 419b of the Penal Code, is punishable by three to ten years in jail," stated police spokesperson Denisa Bardyova.
