Slovakia is sending 40 police officers to the Hungarian-Serbian border. They are to help their Hungarian colleagues reduce the pressure of illegal migration. Interior Minister Roman Mikulec reiterated on Thursday that the solution to illegal migration is the protection of the external Schengen border, not internal border controls. According to the minister, Slovak police officers will operate in mixed patrols. Their mission should last for two months for the time being, after which it is to be reassessed. (TASR)
