The Health Ministry has launched inoculation against COVID-19 with the newest vaccine adapted to the Omicron variant, due to be administered only in the capacity of a booster jab, TASR press agency learned from the ministry press department on Monday. "As of today, the vaccination centres in Slovakia are launching the inoculation with the latest Comirnaty vaccine Original/Omicron BA.4-5, which provides enhanced protection against the currently most prevailing Omicron subvariant," stated the ministry. The adapted vaccines can be administered only as booster shots. "It's possible to administer them only to individuals who have already taken their jabs with the original vaccines against COVID-19," added the press department.
