Slovak MOD submitted development of state defence plan until 2035

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Slovak submitted submitted development of state defence plan until 2035 for the inter departmental review. The ministry planns to increase material reserves for the needs of the Armed Forces in the State Material Reserves Administration until the end of 2035 as a priority to cover the requirements of the Slovak Armed Forces for 30 days together with the army's reserves. The number of beds for the needs of the Ministry of Defence in medical facilities is to be maintained. The intention is also to ensure military mobility on the territory of the Slovak Republic and to complete the infrastructure of the national defence management site.

"The aim of the material is to increase the scope and applicability of state defence support to ensure the tasks of the armed forces and the support of foreign armed forces in the defence of the state," the submitter explained. The established long-term objectives and procedures for the development of individual areas of state defence support will be elaborated in a medium-term development plan, which will determine a balanced approach and an effective distribution of resources for three to six years. It is to be elaborated for the first time by the end of 2023 and every two years thereafter.
