Constitutional Court to assess anti-inflationary package

The Slovak Constitutional Court (CC) will assess the constitutionality of the so-called anti-inflationary package, which the Parliament approved again after being vetoed by the head of state. The Court has time to rule on the matter by 1 January 2023. President Zuzana Čaputová challenged the disputed parts of the anti-inflationary package within the framework of the amendment to the law on the financing of children's leisure time at the Constitutional Court.

The anti-inflationary package was originally introduced months before inflation started to grow rapidly as a revolution in tax-levies by Finance Minister Igor Matovič. At the moment it is also called the pro-family package.
