Revenues in industry up by 19.5% in August

Growth in revenues in Slovak industry accelerated to 19.5% year-on-year in August 2022, the Statistics Office reported. Furthermore, 14 out of the 16 industrial branches monitored saw increases. The overall result was chiefly influenced by a growth of 42.7% in the revenues of car production and a 25.6-percent revenue increase in the supply of electricity and gas. Other revenue hikes were observed in the production of metals - 15.9%; in the production of machinery - 15.7%; and in the production of gum and plastics - 8.9%. Meanwhile, revenues in transport and warehousing notched up a record, 35.9-percent increase.

After seasonal adjustments, revenues in industry dropped by 1.4% month-on-month, while those in selected market services decreased by 1.6%. Increases were observed in the IT and telecommunications sector - 6.2%; in transport and warehousing - 3.1%; and in construction - 1.5%.

As for the January-August period, double-digit revenue growth in yearly terms was recorded in transport and warehousing - 27.2%, and in the IT and telecommunications sector - 13.8%. Revenues in industry increased overall by 6.9%, while those in construction fell by 2.6%.
