As a result of parliament not having a quorum on Tuesday the Speaker, Boris Kollár (We are a family), adjourned the session until October 18, when the deputies should continue voting. The end of this session is to be followed by another regular session, the beginning of which was also scheduled for October 18. Deputies did not decide on the budget on Friday (October 7th) due to obstruction by the opposition, and the plenum did not have a quorum during the vote.
Smer-SD requests that the budget be increased by only 207 million euros for the re-payment of 13th pensions. The chairman of the OĽANO parliamentary club, Michal Šipoš, rejects this narrative and talks about helping people. The amendment to the Act on the State Budget increases both expenditures and revenues of the budget by approximately 1.5 billion euros, while the amount of the planned deficit does not change.
