“I communicate about problems with energy prices in the same way both in Slovakia and abroad, Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) said on Wednesday in connection with his statements for Wednesday's edition of the renowned Financial Times newspaper. Apart from other things, Heger told the Financial Times that Slovakia's economy is facing collapse due to soaring electricity charges. According to the premier, notable price increases following Russia's invasion of Ukraine could "kill our economy" if Slovakia does not receive aid amounting to billions of euros from Brussels. Heger warned that if such aid does not come, the Slovak government will be forced to nationalise power supplies in the country.
