About 1,500 doctors are expected to file mass notices, Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (OLaNO nominee) stated Tuesday on TV Markiza. Lengvarsky referred to a survey that the ministry had conducted in hospitals. The precise number will become known on Monday (October 3). "At the moment, we're talking only hypothetically," he claimed. About 8,000 doctors currently work in Slovak hospitals. Lengvarsky underlined that the Government is dealing with the situation and treats the health care segment as its priority. "Simply put, we'll need to arrive at such a deal so that there are no notices," claimed the minister, who believes that demands raised by unionists are legitimate but require some time for implementation (TASR)
