Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Rastislav Kacer stressed the need for unity among EU-member and NATO countries in New York on Wednesday. He appreciates the swift decision to convene an extraordinary meeting of EU diplomatic chiefs shortly after the Russian aggressor decided to escalate tensions against Ukraine, adding that EU countries must be prepared for Russia to escalate its actions further and must "loudly and unequivocally condemn any decision to incorporate occupied Ukrainian territories into Russia." According to the head of Slovak diplomacy, such a course of action is also against Slovakia's interests, as a change in borders orchestrated with weapons and on the basis of ethnic principles goes against all the rules of international law. The extraordinary meeting of EU diplomatic chiefs was convened by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session late on Wednesday.
