Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad signed the Memorandum on Cooperation with his Korean counterpart Lee Jong-sup on Wednesday with an eye towards firming up the Slovak ties with South Korea in defence and security. The official bilateral talks between the defence ministers of Slovakia and South Korea were the first of their kind. The fulcrum of the meeting was closer bilateral cooperation as well as the Russian aggression in Ukraine. According to Slovak Defence Minister, South Korea is not only a guarantor of security in northeast Asia, but also an important international security actor. After visiting DX-Korea 2022 defence expo in Seoul on Wednesday, Nad stated that closer Slovak-South Korean cooperation might be beneficial to the defence industries of both countries.
