Culture Minister Natalia Milanova has been awarded the Order of Princess Olga, a Ukrainian civil decoration bestowed on women for personal merits. Milanova was given the award in appreciation for her help and support for Ukraine and its culture, based on a decision by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, TASR press agency learnt on Monday. The award was given to the minister for her personal merits in strengthening interstate cooperation, promoting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and her significant contribution in spreading awareness around the world of the Ukrainian state. Milanova stated that she considers the honour to be a very special one but remarked that the thanks really belongs to the organisations that help to promote and present Ukrainian culture in Slovakia. "The award is bestowed on people who have contributed to the development of the culture of Ukraine. It is a very honourable distinction," explained Ukrainian Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko, thanking Milanova and the whole of Slovakia for the help that they have given to his homeland.
