Solutions to energy crisis not on agenda of Wednesday's Cabinet session

No item concerning solutions to the energy crisis is on the agenda of Wednesday's Government session, said Economy Ministry State Secretary Karol Galek before the session, adding that Eduard Heger's Cabinet will only deal with the issue as part of a miscellaneous item. "This means we'll discuss the situation that has occurred since the last session," said Galek. The state secretary also wants to inform the Government about the results of talks between EU ministers in charge of energy matters, at which he represented Slovakia. According to Galek, new Economy Minister Karel Hirman will follow up the work started by his predecessor Richard Sulik (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS). Although he admitted there may potentially be changes to the prepared package of measures to deal with the energy crisis, the basic direction shouldn't change, he said. Galek himself expects to remain at the ministry for one or two more weeks.
