On Tuesday evening in Bratislava, Minister of Culture Natália Milanová (OĽANO) presented the prize of the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic for the year 2021, in the fields of art, cultural heritage and educational activities. Recipients of the award included the Košice Youth Library, and acting legends. Dancer, ballet master, choreographer Roman Novitzky received the Award of the Minister of Culture for his exceptional contribution in the field of art "for artistic mastery in the field of classical and modern ballet and exceptional representation of Slovak ballet art at home and abroad". The award also went to opera singer Eva Bodorová "for her extraordinary vocal and acting portrayal of the character Elisabetta" in the production of Donizetti's opera Roberto Devereux at the Košice State Theatre. Writer Jana Bodnárová received the award for her exceptional contribution in the field of original literature and translation work. In the category of exceptional contribution of institutions in the field of cultural heritage or cultural-educational activity, the 2021 Minister of Culture Award goes to the Košice Youth Library, which received it "for exceptional contribution in the field of supporting children's reading, innovative spaces and publishing". The award of the Minister of Culture for individuals, institutions and collectives is a manifestation of the evaluation of exceptional artistic, creative and interpretive achievements, museum, gallery, library, cultural-educational and audiovisual activities for the previous calendar year, or for long-term or lifelong contribution in individual areas of culture.
