Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLANO party) said in connection with the government crisis that his preference is to fill the ministries with experts. He stressed that the coalition also agreed on this. When passing laws in parliament, he and the minority government want to be involved only with the votes of parties with democratic values. He ruled out negotiations on support with ĽSNS MPs. Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová declared that she will always consider candidates offered to be new ministers, but she sees no reason to prolong the current agony in connection with the government crisis. Igor Matovic suggested that Freedom and Solidarity Party leader and ex-economy minister Richard Sulik was running away from responsibility, calling it cowardice. "According to what they told us in their farewell today, they're going to turn our lives into hell with the mafia and the fascists in Parliament. A hell that only ordinary people will pay for," Matovic posted on a social network, adding that the coming time will be difficult for everyone. Richad Sulik rejects the accusation that he's running away from responsibility, saying he would like to remain in charge of the ministry and continue his work. He said it would be enough for him if Matovic left, and Sulik would return to finish the work in progress. As for further work in Parliament, Sulík announced a meeting of the Freedom and solidarity party for today, Tuesday (6 September), after which they’ll announce their next moves concerning individual laws, including the issue of shortening the electoral term. Deputy Prime Minister and Investment Minister Veronika Remišová (For the People) reiterated that she considers the departure of ministers in the current situation to be irresponsible. Chairman of the opposition Smer-SD party Robert Fico called on President Zuzana Caputova to immediately declare a referendum that will lead to a snap election, TASR press agency learnt from Fico's post on a social network on Monday. The extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party added that the governing coalition has ended in great shame, a fiasco and complete failure. The party called on Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) to immediately ask Parliament for a vote of confidence in his Cabinet.
