Economy ministry submits key measures to deal with energy prices

The Economy Ministry is submitting to the Cabinet session a package of measures to deal with the issue of the current high energy prices, said Economy Ministry State Secretary Karol Galek before the Government session on Friday. The measures have been divided into three categories: measures for households, those for industry, and general savings measures. Representatives of individual ministries (apart from the Finance Ministry) held talks on the issue of energy prices and possible solutions on Wednesday (August 31). The submitted document is a result of these talks, said Galek, who expects that the Finance Ministry will agree to the proposed changes. The Cabinet should also adopt a resolution on steps that need to be taken in connection with energy prices, the division of tasks among individual ministries, and the setting of deadlines. The package also includes a law that will allow energy prices to be capped.
