Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar (We Are Family) conferred the Jozef Miloslav Hurban State Award on six laureates in the old parliament building on Župné Square on Thursday, the day on which Slovakia marked the 30th anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution. The laureates include playwright and director Viliam Klimáček and actress Božidara Turzonovová. The award also went to ex-president Rudolf Schuster. Kollar noted that after November 1989, Schuster, as the new parliamentary chair, proceeded in a responsible manner regarding the transfer of political power to representatives of the Velvet Revolution. Kollar also conferred the award on Rabbi Itzhak Shapira.
