An Open Day was held in the Slovak Parliament on the occasion of Constitution Day. Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollár welcomed the participants in the Parliament building. According to Kollár, September 1 is a great holiday of their statehood, when the members of what was then the Slovak National Council took a fundamental political step towards the establishment of the sovereign and independent Slovak Republic on September 1, 1992. Visitors were able to view premises of the Parliament and the castle which are not normally open to the public.
