The overall economic mood in Slovakia deteriorated in August, with the seasonally adjusted Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) dropping by 5.9 points month-on-month to 90.9 points, the Statistics Office has reported. The ESI was even more pessimistic in yearly terms, as it decreased by 8.3 points as compared to August 2021. The economic mood in the country has thus deteriorated significantly for the third consecutive month. The biggest decline was observed in services, but there were also drops in construction, industry and trade.
