Telecommunication operator Slovak Telekom clinched a deal with the RCS & RDS consortium to buy a 100-percent share in the company DIGI Slovakia. "We chose DIGI Slovakia because of its established customer base and availability of services," explained Slovak Telekom general director and Board of Directors chair Miroslav Majoros.
With this acquisition, the group will strengthen its position on the TV market. DIGI Slovakia has been active in Slovakia since 2006 and provides cable TV and internet in ten Slovak towns. Currently, it boasts more than 270,000 customers and will operate as a new daughter company after the acquisition, which though must still be approved by the Anti-Monopoly Office (PMU).
