168 Ukrainian health professionals are due to attend a Slovak language course, the head of the Institute of Medical Terminology and Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava, Tomáš Hamar, and Katarína Hromadová, an assistant professor at the Institute, told TASR. The course is provided by the Institute together with the Ministry of Health. They also explained that there are five courses running from July to September. "More will be implemented in the next academic year," they added. According to them, the Slovak language of the Ukrainian health professionals has improved significantly since the courses began. "We have helped them to manage to communicate on a professional level with colleagues, to improve their communication with patients and to master topics in various areas of practical medicine," they added. The language training for Ukrainian health professionals lasts for ten weeks, as online classes three times a week in the afternoon for 90 minutes. The courses are paid for from the health ministry's budget, according to the ministry.
