Up to 40 members of the Slovak Armed Forces and the Military Police, together with the necessary material and equipment, could perform tasks within the NATO multinational battle group in Slovakia. This stems from a Defence Ministry sponsored proposal that the Government approved at its session on Wednesday. Their operation could begin on October 1 and last until the end of the NATO group's activities in Slovakia. The proposal will also be presented to Parliament. The multinational NATO battle group in Slovakia was created in response to the radical change in the security environment in Europe following Russia's military aggression in Ukraine. In the meantime, Slovakia is ready to help with the further treatment of Ukrainian soldiers injured in Ukraine, but the Health Ministry hasn't received any such request yet. He assumes that the follow-up treatment of soldiers could take place in military health-care facilities, as was the case in the past.
