Owners of fitness centres that were closed due to anti-pandemic measures have failed in their complaints to the European Court of Human Rights. The Court declared the complaints inadmissible. The case concerned five complaints about the consequences of measures taken by the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease in 2020. The complainants alleged in their complaints that they had suffered property damage and lost profit as a result, as well as lost clients. However, according to the court, they have deliberately withheld material information and their complaints are therefore vexatious in nature.
