Opposition urges Prime Minister to initiate no-confidence votes

Non-parliamentary Voice-SD party calls on Prime Minister Eduard Heger to appear before Parliament and initiate a no-confidence vote in the Government. Voice-SD leader Peter Pellegrini sees only one possible way out of the situation and that is early elections. Meanwhile, opposition Smer-SD head Robert Fico said on Wednesday that first they need to oust Finance Minister Matovic, who “has no business being in the Government”. He said this addressing the fact that Independent MPs affiliated with the extra-parliamentary far-right Republic party want to initiate a no-confidence motion in Finance Minister Igor Matovic. Fico met representatives of the Republic party in connection with the planned referendum on a snap general election, adding that he also wants to approach them to discuss dismissing Matovic but has not yet done so.
