Second level warning due to high temperatures

The temperature may rise to 35-36 degrees Celsius in the west and south of Slovakia on Wednesday, August 17, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute reported on its website, adding that it had also issued a second-level warning for some districts. The warning applied to the entire Bratislava region, almost the entire Trnava and Nitra regions in the west as well as the Krupina, Lucenec, Poltar, Rimavska Sobota and Velky Krtis districts in central Slovakia. "The high temperature represents a potential danger to human health, physical activities and the outbreak of fires," warned meteorologists.
