Tuesday’s funeral of cardinal Jozef Tomko in St. Elisabeth's Cathedral in Košice will start with a requiem mass at 11 a.m. led by Czech Archbishop emeritus, Cardinal Dominik Duka. Tomko’s remains are being displayed in the Cathedral for public veneration. On Tuesday, people can enter the cathedral between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Thousands of people took a chance to do so on Monday and Sunday in Košice as well as on Friday and Saturday in Bratislava. The final farewell for Cardinal Tomko in the Vatican was held on Thursday.
Cardinal emeritus Jozef Tomko, who was the oldest member of the College of Cardinals and the only Slovak cardinal, died in Rome on August 8 at the age of 98.
