The petition for a referendum on early elections will be concluded by August 15. According to the head of the Smer - SD party, Fico, the necessary 350 thousand signatures are already available. Robert Fico called on President Zuzana Caputova to listen to the voices of the people. Fico sees no reason for Caputova to reach out to the Constitutional Court in order to shirk her responsibility. Fico is convinced that such a referendum would be successful. In the past, the President announced that she would challenge the referendum question on the immediate resignation of the Government in the Constitutional Court, as it bears marks of unconstitutionality. If the court decided that the question were incorrect, she would call only for a referendum on the option of shortening the parliamentary term.
