Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová sent a telegram of condolences to her Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda over the bus crash that claimed the lives of twelve Polish pilgrims in Croatia. "On behalf of the Slovak public, the president expressed her sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery," the President’s spokesman Martin Strižinec said. "My thoughts and sincere condolences to all those who lost their beloved ones. Warm wishes of quick recovery to travellers that got injured," Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok wrote on his Twitter account.
The accident occurred on the A4 motorway leading to the Croatian capital in the early hours of Saturday. The bus veered off the road, killing a total of 12 people and injuring 32 others.
