Gas supplies from Russia to the Slovak state-owned gas utility SPP are still reaching only 40% of the agreed volume, Ondrej Šebesta, spokesman of SPP said on Thursday. "Today [August 4], we expect, based on information from Gazprom Export, that gas supplies under our contract will be at a level of approximately 40% of the ordered volume," said Šebesta, adding that SPP receives 65% of its demand from non-Russian sources and that these supplies are physically flowing to Slovakia. Russian supplier Gazprom has been reducing gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to 20% of total capacity since Wednesday of last week, claiming technical problems.
