Analysts: Prices of petrol to drop in September

At the beginning of the school year, petrol in Slovakia should be at a price starting at 1.6 euros per litre, predict analysts from the Dáta bez pátosu (Data Without Pathos) initiative. "Oil has become cheaper over the past week, getting below $100 a barrel for Brent and WTI. It takes several days for the price of Russian Ural crude oil to react, so the decline will be projected onto Ural oil in the next few days to a week," analysts wrote on their social media profile. From its high of $93 a barrel this year, Ural will fall below $70 a barrel, according to analysts. "That's a 'discount' of 25% and we could see a similar drop from Russian oil processors (MOL and Slovnaft) at the pumps," they said. At the end of June, we paid €1.95 for a litre of petrol. "In September, we will get to roughly between €1.69 and €1.65 euros," analysts predict.
