Municipalities and regions will be allowed to file requests to increase the financing of their Eurofund projects to compensate for the growing prices of construction materials, Investment Minister Veronika Remisova announced at a press conference on Wednesday. Remisova underlined that hundreds of projects in the Integrated Regional Operational Programme would be saved in this way. The completion of financing for the projects in response to the unpredictable situation was approved via an amendment to the European Funds Act. The change is envisioned to apply to 625 projects worth a total of €585 million. Remisova added that inflation is affecting in particular IROP projects dealing with schools, cycle paths, social services and public greenery.
