Up to 40 members of the Slovak Armed Forces and the Military Police, together with the necessary material and equipment, could perform tasks within the NATO multinational battle group in Slovakia. This stems from a proposal that the Defence Ministry submitted to fast-tracked inter-ministerial comments proceedings. Their operation could begin on October 1 and last until the end of the NATO group's activities in Slovakia. In addition to the government, the proposal must also be approved by parliament. The multinational NATO battle group in Slovakia was created in response to the radical change in the security environment in Europe following Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.
