Paramedics have helped 84 people suffering heat-induced collapses on Wednesday (August 3), with the highest number of cases, 17 recorded in the Kosice region. The youngest treated patient was a 10-year-old boy, the oldest a 94-year-old woman. A total of 49 patients had to be rushed to the hospital. The heatwave is not over, however. Meteorologists expect Thursday afternoon to be very warm, especially in the southwest and southern districts of central and eastern Slovakia. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute issued a warning of temperatures rising up to 35 degrees Celsius in several locations.
