The establishment of a new committee of the Slovak Security Council for hybrid threats is under consideration and would contribute to strengthening the resistance of the state and society against hybrid threats. This according to an amendment to the law on the functioning of the Security Council of the Slovak Republic in times of peace, which is being prepared by the Slovak Defense Ministry. The committee is also meant to improve interdepartmental cooperation and coordination of activities in the fight against hybrid threats. According to the ministry, the Slovak Security Council does not currently have a permanent working body that would specialize exclusively in the issue of hybrid threats and that would be able to respond flexibly in this area to dynamic developments of the international security environment. The proposal to establish the new committee results from the tasks of the Action Plan for the coordination of the fight against hybrid threats for the years 2022-2024, which was approved by the government in March.
