Former Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová has become a member of the High-Level Reflection Group set up by the Council of Europe. "My membership is particularly important because of Slovakia's representation in the elaboration of the strategic priorities of the Council of Europe as a result of major geopolitical and structural changes," the former prime minister told TASR. Marija Pejčinovic Buric, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, says the aim is to respond to the current challenges Europe has faced recently. The Reflection Group is tasked with defining the concept of support and cooperation with Ukraine and other non-EU member states, promoting improved relations with Russian and Belarusian civil society, preventing violence against women and domestic violence, and assessing the impact of the European Union's failure to accede to the European Convention on Human Rights. The high-level reflection group is composed of seven high-level individuals to reflect geographical spread and age and gender balance. The Chair is Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland.
