Last week was marked by a new record for the market price of electricity. As the SITA agency wrote, according to data published by the Prague-based PXE exchange, electricity for delivery to Slovakia next year was sold last Tuesday for €391 per megawatt-hour. Subsequently, electricity prices fell slightly, reaching €378 per megawatt-hour on Friday.
Gas prices also hit historical records. On the TTF market (Title Transfer Facility, a virtual trading hub in the Netherlands) last Thursday, gas was sold for around 206 euros per megawatt-hour. Currently, the price stands at €192 per megawatt-hour. Still, gas reached record highs in early March this year. On International Women's Day, gas climbed to €216 per megawatt hour on the TTF market.
