Slovak Environment Minister Ján Budaj wants the export of wood from Slovakia abroad to be regulated as he expects, as a result of the energy crisis, an increased interest in firewood, and thus an increase in prices. "In response to the ongoing energy crisis caused by the Russian Federation, Budaj called on Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlčan, to prepare the state-run forestry company Lesy SR for increased interest in firewood, caused by uncertainty in gas supply", wrote the Environment Ministry.
